Try Ashbourne First

I believe that we need to work to preserve and develop Ashbourne’s High Street. We need the right mix of shops, a thriving market, an online presence and a balance between tourism and a self-sustaining local economy. If any of these links aren’t working or you have other suggestions for online businesses please let me know.

There are some local independent retailers who are part of the character of the town and who offer great value and service:

Derek’s Fruit and Veg at the bottom of the “Welly Yard”, Mark’s Butchers next door to him, Nigel’s butcher and Peaches butcher all offer good produce at good value.

Why not try, for a start, to use the independent shops once a month? You’ll taste a difference, and you’ll probably find a pleasantly surprising difference in your wallet / purse.

    Lamplight restaurant, Victoria Square
Market Place Fish and Chip Shop, Market Place (where else)
Thai Basement, the Gallery (just at the bottom of Buxton Hill.
White’s (the former White Lion), Buxton Hill
